Despite all the new trash cans there is still a lot of litter in the boro in particular in the 4th ward. Has the boro looked at organizing a community clean up day or seeing if WCU organizations/greek life would be interested in "sponsoring" blocks? I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would also make sense to add mandatory community service to the fines for quality of life violations.

Even thought the streets have parking and are not extremely wide a bike lane would not take up unnecessary space, Other cities could be used as examples on how to get the project completed

I take the bus everyday, it started as a way to save money. Now I proudly take it as my part in help the environment. I think it would be great if West Chester promoted this behavior more. One way WC could help is by providing some shelter at the occasional bus stop. My guess would be mostly on High ST and the important stops like Chester County Hospital. Also, I hate getting to the stop and finding trash. It is awful that someone tossed it there but if there was a trash/recycling can to place them in I'm sure they would. Thanks for reading.

Have the broken down cars and trucks towed away. Everhart Street has become a parking lot of dilapidated cars and trucks that sit and do not move for many months at a time, up to 9 months in some cases. It is a real eyesore and the offenders are not Everhart Street homeowners It would greatly enhance Everhart Street if the junked up cars and trucks were removed.

We still need improved notification on hearings and borough meetings where the agenda involves a major development project. The former is currently announced in a small notice in the Daily Local, a newspaper that no longer has the readership it once had. With the new web site, I no longer get email notices from the borough manager or the mayor. However, people are unaware of the "Notify Me" option. Something is not working since at a recent hearing for a zoning overlay (in an important area of the borough) , only one other resident was present in addition to myself.

The new comprehensive plan was suppose to study the possibility of a HARB "light," meaning that similar HARB projection would apply but the rules would not be so strict in the "light" areas such as residential areas. We need more protection for historic resources. For instance, I believe residents have restrictions about modifying a carriage house but they can still raze one.

As street lights and external building lights are replaced in the future, consider (or require?) downward pointing lights, and use high efficiency bulbs. Both of these would create a savings in electricity use and presumably money. Pointing lights down wastes less energy lost to the sky, so you do not need bulbs to be as bright. It would also be healthier for surrounding wildlife and migrating birds, etc. And of course, it might brighten the stars in our night skies - our children are being robbed of.

The section of this road that belongs to the Borough is awful. There have been numerous instances of possible collisions because commuters are trying to avoid the potholes and broken road, including one with a school bus. There has been road rage from on coming traffic when people cross the dividing line to avoid the fragmented road. In addition to cars being ruined from frequently using the road. This is not a huge cost and it needs to be repaired.

I am interested in bringing a branch of organization called Fleet Farming to our community. A homeowner would donate unused plot of land to build a farm on. Volunteers would upkeep the farm and all produce grown will be sold locally at farmers markets within a 5 mile radius. All transportation of products to and from market and the farm will be done by bike to reduce carbon emissions.
