Fun on the horizon in West Chester
Welcome to the Borough of West Chester's Parks and Recreation homepage 2009
Coming July 9th @ 7pm to Everhart Park: "A Midsummer Night's Dream" performed by Commonwealth Classic Theatre. This is the opening night of their summer park performances. It is totally free to attend and enjoy this terrific show. Bring a blanket or chair, food and drink, and your sense of humor because this show is absolutely hilarious.
Check them out at Commonwealth Classic Theatre
The next Swingin' Summer Thursday is July 2nd from 6:30pm - 9:30pm on Gay St. between High St. and Matlack St. Two great bands with local ties will be playing. The John Grecia Band and the The Alfred James Band will be providing the music. (Both have played West Chester Rec. events before and we are so glad to have them back.) Not to mention the other fun things we'll have going on... clowns, magicians, face painting, great food, crafters and info booths. Come on down and check it out. (Hope for good weather this time!)
CHECK THIS OUT!!! The Turks Head Music Festival website is up and running. This long standing West Chester tradition is getting better with age and this year is no exception. Take a look and tell us what you think. July 19th, 2009 is going to be a good time...
TURKS HEAD MUSIC FESTIVAL
Most of our discounted amusement park tickets have come in (we're still waiting on a few places). Please call for to see which parks we currently have or check the list on the right for pricing.
ALL of the 2009 Festival applications are available on the upper right hand side of this page. Please click on what you are (A Crafter-makes their own goods, a Non crafter- resells goods or is a business looking for promotion, a Food vendor- sells food, Non Profit- must provide proof of non-profit status, Merchant-Downtown West Chester Business.)
NOTE* A specialty food vendor sells only one type of food (cookies, popcorn, smoothies, etc...) and a Portable food vendor is self contained and usually does festivals like ours.
This place was awesome. We took our summer camp counselors there for a team building exercise and it was well worth it. Please take a moment to check them out. SKIROUNDTOP
