Babysitting is usually a teenager’s first attempt at building and running a small business. Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course comes in a magazine-format guide designed to engage and inform the aspiring babysitter. It gives teenagers everything they need to know, from getting started, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips.

Participants will need to bring a lunch.

Bitty Ballet is a program designed for preschool age children as an introduction to dance. Ballet is a wonderful stepping stone to encourage group participation, listening to instructor and a true love of dance and movement for these developing souls. Simple ballet positions and moves also encourage physical activity and controlled body movements in toddlers.

We also believe in building the confidence & worth of our dancers - we offer topics of conversation each class to encourage children to be kind, generous and passionate.

Star Party at Hoopes Park with the Chester County Astronomical Society

Join West Chester Parks and Recreation and the Chester County Astronomical Society on Saturday, October 7th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM for a night under the stars at Hoopes Park. Members of the Chester County Astronomical Society, a group of amateur astronomers, will bring telescopes and expertise to Hoopes Park to share the wonders of the night sky.
 
As the glow of the Sun fades we’ll gaze at the most amazing of the planets: Saturn! As it gets fully dark we can look toward the southern constellations which will have nebulas and star clusters to view through telescopes and binoculars.

The Junior Chemical Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of solids, liquids, and solutions. Students investigate the properties of several crazy concoctions and make their own samples of bubbles, play dough, flub, and more.

During the Chemical Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine various mixtures and solutions with different chemical properties. They develop solutions to clean up an oil spill, synthesize their own rocket fuel, and investigate the secrets behind color pigmentation.

Building a house to withstand the Big, Bad Wolf is where the fun begins in Junior Civil. This class is centered on exploring the concepts of building and construction through hands-on exploration and design. Students explore the engineering behind sky scrapers, bridges, roads, and more in this fun and engaging experience.

During the Civil Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a balsawood bridge designed to withstand the greatest force. They examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures.

Fall Fun Art Sundae
